Cinema Kievan Rus

Cinema Kievan Rus history began in 1961, when cinema Kommunar was built. In 1982, the new cinema was built at this place that was called Kievan Rus. Its opening was timed to the 15 centenary of Kiev. Cinema Kievan Rus became popular with cinematographic judges very fast and ranked with the best Kiev cinemas. In 1990, during the British cinema festival in Kiev, at Kievan Rus stage were Lindsey Andersen, Malcolm Mac Dowell, Princess Diana and Margaret Thatcher also honoured the cinema with their presence.

In 1997 Blue hall was completely renewed and Dolby Surround system, armchairs, screen (4x9m) were installed here. Large hall of the theater was also renovated and in 2002 was opened for the viewers again.

Interesting repertoire, following the main cinema tendencies and reasonable prices make cinema Kievan Rus one of the most attended.
